Simplifying Digital Banking

Bam is a digital banking application published by Bank Melli Iran for its customers. The user interface and user experience of the project were designed by youx Studio in collaboration with Bank Melli.

Bam offers a wide range of banking services, including card-to-card transfers, bill payments, balance inquiries, and many other everyday services. Its broad user base and range of services called for a simple and easy-to-understand experience that could guide users through different processes without unnecessary complexity.

An Integrated User Interface

The Bam interface was designed with a focus on simplicity and usability, keeping users focused on the main tasks and removing unnecessary complexity from key flows.

To maintain a consistent experience across the product, a Design System was developed alongside the interface. It provided reusable patterns and components for future development, helping maintain visual and interaction consistency as the product evolved.

The interface was designed in both light and dark modes, allowing the experience to adapt to different user preferences and contexts.

From Research to Experience Design

The design process began by reviewing web usage data, user and administrator interviews, questionnaires, and other available sources. These insights helped identify the main issues and prioritize the needs of both users and the business.

Based on these findings, key user flows and design solutions were developed to create a simpler and more practical experience.

The proposed solutions were then translated into prototypes, allowing the team and project stakeholders to review and refine the main flows and interactions before development.

Validating the Experience

Prototypes made it possible to identify potential usability issues early and refine the experience before implementation. Usability testing was designed around user and business priorities, helping validate the key flows and address important friction points at an early stage.

The process helped shape an experience that could support a wide range of banking services while keeping everyday tasks simple and easy to understand.

In the following, you can explore selected interface screens designed throughout this process.
